Are We Unclean?

Matthew 15:10-11- "Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, Listen and understand. What goes into a man's mouth does not make him unclean, but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him unclean."

Good afternoon everyone. Sorry about the lateness of the message today, but here in Michigan we have about 2 feet of snow where I am at and more on the way, so I had to shovel at least some of the driveway in case I needed to get out in an emergency. I know God has a reason for snow like this, but I really wish He would take me out of it. Lol. Pretty to look at, but really hard to live in. Anyway, praise Him that I have a roof over my head and a house with heat. There are many that are not quite as blessed. Also, continue to keep me in your prayers as it seems my Princess' arrival home will be tomorrow instead of today because of the weather. As I have said, I seriously don't function well without her so hopefully she will make it home safe soon.

For those that have known me for a while, you know that I am not the typical Pastor in that I share almost everything with you all because I feel that even though God has put me here to lead this ministry, I go through the same things all of you do and there is no need to maintain any "image" as most Pastors do. Today is another example of this and God led me right to this verse. I wont go into all the details, but suffice it to say I had a very bad morning and I said some words that were not very God-like. So when I went to do my devotion, God led me straight to this verse that seems very appropriate. See, even though I am saved by the blood of Christ, I will spend my whole life letting God purge all the nastiness out of my heart and let Him transform my mind and heart into one that shares His and not one of the world. The point this morning is that when this happens to us, we must not lose heart! We must understand that we have a unclean heart and let Jesus guide our hearts into one that is clean and ready for the eternity with Him that He has promised us. When I said those words this morning, it just proves that I still have alot of work to do in my walk with Him, but we all do. Don't let those slip ups damage your walk with Christ. Simply pray that God would forgive you and ask Him to fill your heart back up with His love and move on. Just remember, we must do this all the time, not just when we slip. We have unclean hearts that must be transformed daily!

My Brothers and Sisters, the day will come when our enemy will be cast into the Lake of Fire and we won't have to deal with this stuff anymore, but until then, realize that we are indeed unclean, and need Jesus to make us clean. Also, remember that we must continue this process daily, especially when we are going through difficult times as I was this morning. If you don't, before you know it, your heart will be filled with things that aren't very Christ-like. Be strong my friends and may God bless all of you today!

Your Brother in Christ,
Pastor David
