Looking for rest?
Matthew 11:28-30- "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
Good morning everyone and welcome to Sunday! I have to admit that yesterday was a tough day for me but thank you Jesus for giving me three great boys who saw I was struggling and made the effort all day to make me laugh and get my mind on other things. I am so blessed with the family that God has given me! Thank you Josh, Derek, and Tyler so much for the fun time yesterday; I love you three very much! :)
Ok, now as we look at this passage this morning, I think about how much better and stress free our lives would be if we could live all the time by this passage. We are to take His yoke (authority), learn His ways, and by doing this we will find the rest for our souls that we so desire! Sounds too simple right? Doing this simple process alone couldn't really bring us peace in our lives right? There must be more too it. Nope, sure isn't! Look everyone, sometimes we make this journey we are on with Christ way more complicated than it really is. Sure, the Bible is a big book and there are lots of teaching and ways of Christ that we are to learn, but isn't that part of this 3 sentence passage that Jesus has given us this morning? Satan does everything in his limited power to keep us spinning and thinking that there has got to be more things that we have to do to please God and bring peace to our lives. If you study the Bible long enough, you will come to realize this simple fact about God and His Word; most times, the most important things that God has to say to us are in the shortest passages. This is for a reason my Brothers and Sisters; coming to peace with God is not a complicated process, it is however one that you must do on your own and be on your initiative. Most people, Christians included, try and bring peace to their lives by "things" or relationships and still they feel empty. As I tell my Princess all the time; as much as I love her, I will at some point let her down. So her ultimate trust and peace in her life must be not with me but with Christ! He alone gives us the peace and security that we so desire in our lives.
Friends, His burden is light this morning, because He allowed the burden of all our lives to be put on Him at the Cross. He took all our sin, our pain, our suffering, and our hopelessness and put in on Himself so we could be free of it! Don't we owe it to our Lord to finally come to Him this morning for that peace that He offers us? Don't we owe it to Him to take His yoke upon us and learn from Him all that He wants to teach us? Let us put our suffering and depression and burden firmly where it belongs; at the foot of the Cross, and let's get moving for the Kingdom, Amen? :) God Bless everyone!

Are We Unclean?
Matthew 15:10-11- "Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, Listen and understand. What goes into a man's mouth does not make him unclean, but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him unclean."
Good afternoon everyone. Sorry about the lateness of the message today, but here in Michigan we have about 2 feet of snow where I am at and more on the way, so I had to shovel at least some of the driveway in case I needed to get out in an emergency. I know God has a reason for snow like this, but I really wish He would take me out of it. Lol. Pretty to look at, but really hard to live in. Anyway, praise Him that I have a roof over my head and a house with heat. There are many that are not quite as blessed. Also, continue to keep me in your prayers as it seems my Princess' arrival home will be tomorrow instead of today because of the weather. As I have said, I seriously don't function well without her so hopefully she will make it home safe soon.
For those that have known me for a while, you know that I am not the typical Pastor in that I share almost everything with you all because I feel that even though God has put me here to lead this ministry, I go through the same things all of you do and there is no need to maintain any "image" as most Pastors do. Today is another example of this and God led me right to this verse. I wont go into all the details, but suffice it to say I had a very bad morning and I said some words that were not very God-like. So when I went to do my devotion, God led me straight to this verse that seems very appropriate. See, even though I am saved by the blood of Christ, I will spend my whole life letting God purge all the nastiness out of my heart and let Him transform my mind and heart into one that shares His and not one of the world. The point this morning is that when this happens to us, we must not lose heart! We must understand that we have a unclean heart and let Jesus guide our hearts into one that is clean and ready for the eternity with Him that He has promised us. When I said those words this morning, it just proves that I still have alot of work to do in my walk with Him, but we all do. Don't let those slip ups damage your walk with Christ. Simply pray that God would forgive you and ask Him to fill your heart back up with His love and move on. Just remember, we must do this all the time, not just when we slip. We have unclean hearts that must be transformed daily!
My Brothers and Sisters, the day will come when our enemy will be cast into the Lake of Fire and we won't have to deal with this stuff anymore, but until then, realize that we are indeed unclean, and need Jesus to make us clean. Also, remember that we must continue this process daily, especially when we are going through difficult times as I was this morning. If you don't, before you know it, your heart will be filled with things that aren't very Christ-like. Be strong my friends and may God bless all of you today!

Living In His Light
David Fischer 1 John 1:6-7- "If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the Truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin."
Good morning everyone and welcome to Friday! This week that actually means something to me for I am off the weekend and can enjoy a little bit of down time as school is almost back for the next semester. Please keep my family in your prayers as my Princess had to go visit her Uncle in the hospital this weekend as he fell and is not in very good condition. Prayers for him that he would be healed, prayers for my Princess to come home safely, and prayers for me as most of you know that I don't function very well without my bride. Lol!
My brothers and sisters, this passage this morning is one of conviction and Truth. You get the impression from the directness of the message from John that there were those who were claiming to be a follower of Christ, but yet were still living in the darkness and conducting themselves in accordance with the world and not with the Truth of Christ. I'm afraid to say that I see the same thing today and it truly saddens my heart. I see countless examples on a regular basis of people that label themselves as a Christian, yet seek out the dark lifestyle that they always have lived. Now this is different that trying to live for Christ and falling, we all do that, Amen? But what John is talking about here is people that claim to follow Christ, yet make no attempt to live for Him and His ways. My question this morning is, are we liars this morning as John describes here, or do we walk in His light? Are we a Christian by title only, or have we truly given Him our hearts and are trying with everything we have to walk in His light? God knows our hearts so we need to start with being honest to that question.
My friends, if you have never truly given your heart and life to Christ, please do so now! There is no ritual you have to go through, simply just pray in your heart that you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, that you believe with all your heart that He died on a cross in Calvary to take your place and redeem you from your sinful ways, and that you will now live for Him and not the world. Once you do this, and truly mean it, you can finally walk in His light and escape the darkness that you now are living in. The blood of Jesus will purify you from all your sins, isn't it about time you gave it all to Him? If you made this decision today, please let me know. God Bless everyone and have a great day in the Lord! :)

Forgiveness
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32)… Thoughts :-. … Being kind in this scripture is directly connected with forgiving others. Is there anyone in your life that you need to forgive, don’t let another day go by, get in touch with that person and show kindness by offering your forgiveness to them…. What does God mean when he tells us to forgive someone? 1. Forgiveness does not mean that we forget, 2. Forgiveness is different than healing. 3. Forgiveness can include distance., 4. Forgiveness is not optional….. How do we find the power to forgive? It comes from Jesus. You need to start by thinking about the cross and how Jesus paid the price for your sins. God has given you eternal and complete forgiveness through Jesus.
